New planting

Today it is very showery, having got off to a bright start its turned into April showers. Went to Tesco and did the weekly shop and just happened to buy 25 blue Allium – I’m really getting addicted to them now! Then, on the way home, stopped off at the garden centre and bought 8 new strawberry plants ( florence) which Hugh F W thought was the tastiest variety. I have to agree, we only had a couple of plants previously, but I have got quote a few ‘babies’ from them and the new ones will add to the stock. I am gradually moving the strawberries to the old potato bed in the spirit of crop rotation.

Had lunch out-of-doors, it’s really hot in the sun, but just as quickly, we had another downpour. Have managed to plant the Allium in the ‘white’ bed and got the strawberries in, that reminds me, must pop up and put some slow release fertiliser on.
