Christmas Eve, Vee and I set off to see The Hobbit, but as Bilbo Baggins found, the journey was not straightforward. Luckily I had my mobile phone on me as we got a call from Hyw to say the cinema projector was not working. As we found ourselves by Tesco, we went in to buy icing sugar to have a go at decorating the gingerbread house. Vee took the pics and I haven’t got them from her yet but let us just say that it is not as easy as it seems and well done Brendan from the Great British Bake Off!
We exchanged our gifts on Christmas day, skyped the boys in Taiwan ( first Christmas without
them ) and then went to the pub for 1/2 an hour to wish the village folks a merry Chrimbo. The sun has been poking its head out periodically, and there are blue skies but it is interspersed with rain and as the day went by, there were more extensive showers. After our Christmas dinner, as it was dry, we decided to go up the hill, not only to walk off our dinner, but to set off a giant sky lantern (environmentally friendly one ) well away from any thatch, although its soaking wet! But, just like the cinema, no sooner had we staggered up the lane, than the heavens opened. So its postponed until the weather permits.
