I’m a gardener. Not a very good one, and I don’t have the patience to do everything properly, but I do like to ‘paint pictures’ with my planting and create lttle surprises! I love buying plants and am never happier than when I am in a new garden centre, exploring the latest gadgets and gizmos. Of course I don’t buy them but its good to know what’s available. Now that I’m retired I have more time to spend in the garden so I am returning it to the days when my younger self used to garden, before I went out to work.
Of course there are days when it is impossible, in my book, to garden. Then I like nothing better than trying my hand a new handicrafts, baking cakes, making jams and chutney and patchworking. I have also recently taken up painting again and am enjoying improving my skills, I might even get round exhibiting some eventually.
I also like to travel, so this has to a certain extent, taken the place of all the notebooks I like to keep when I journey abroad.
This blog is a way for me to look back and see how the garden and my crafts have developed over time, to remember the journeys I have made, but most important of all, Its a way for me to keep in touch with friends and family, many of whom are overseas and I don’t see so often.
